Feline fancier and accom- plished actor Jillian Rose Reed has been in show business for most of her 23 years. While
she’s made recurring appearances in
shows such as Weeds, The Middle,
and Community, it was her role as
sassy, fun-loving Tamara in MTV’s
original hit series Awkward that
earned her a Young Artist Award
and resulted in her being nominated for Best Leading Young Actress
Performance in a TV Series.
We were thrilled to catch up
with Reed and learn how her cat,
Quincy, has impacted her life. You
can rest assured that this fun-loving
actor is not “awkward” at all.
Me: Tell me about your beautiful blue-eyed cat, Quincy.
Jillian Rose Reed: Quincy is a little over 1 1 ⁄ 2 years.
We’re not exactly sure about her breed. Her mom was a
domestic shorthair and her dad, well — we don’t know.
She looks like a Ragdoll or a Siamese; I would guess a
Ragdoll because she has medium-long hair. We’re not
sure of her dad, but her mom looks nothing like her.
We rescued her from Verde Animal Shelter, and she was
actually the last one of the litter to be adopted. We just
fell in love with her when we took her into a room to
see how we got along and she began jumping sideways.
We said, “This cat is really weird; she’s perfect for us!”
