1CatConLA It’s back! The second annual two-day, weekend con- ference showcasing all things feline will be held in Los Angeles on June 25 and 26. Not only will you find cool cat stuff (like clothing,
jewelry, art, and lots of feline goodies), but you’ll see some
cool cat people, too. There’s an impressive speaker list:
Catster.com’s own senior editor Keith Bowers,
who will repeat his role as MC; Will Braden,
creator of Henri Le Chat Noir; cat behaviorist Marilyn Krieger; Eli Omidi and Kady Lone,
the duo behind Cats of Instagram; Scott Sulen,
creator of the Internet Cat Video Festival; and
our own quizmaster, Angie Bailey. These are
just a few of the speakers, so check out the
website for the full list.
Feline Internet stars Lil BUB, Pudge, and
Nala will also be making special appearances
for Meet & Greet sessions.
And don’t miss the adoptable cats from
spcaLA. You can meet them at the adoption village spon-
sored by Hill’s Science Diet and Petco. You might just
meet and fall in love with a new family member!
The conference is held at The Reef in downtown
Los Angeles, and $1 of every CatCon ticket sold, as well
as funds generated from the Meet & Greets, will go to
support FixNation, Lil BUB’s Big Fund, and others.
The Catster team went to the event last year, and we
had an amazing time! We’ll be there again this year and
hope to see you!

2The Secret Life of Pets If you’ve ever been on a diet, Chloe the cat will be your favorite character in the upcoming animated flick The Secret Life of Pets. Trailers show Chloe (voiced by Lake Bell) flicking aside her food bowl
and heading straight for the fridge, where she opens the
door to find a whole roasted turkey. She opens and closes
the door multiple times, struggling with her desire to devour
it whole, before she finally does, leaving nothing behind but
a plate of bones. See Chloe in action at thesecretlifeofpets.

Skechers Pet-Themed Collection
What’s even better than a pair of cat-themed shoes? One
that benefits our animal friends! BOBS from Skechers has
unveiled a limited edition collection to benefit Best Friends
Animal Society. Featuring fun prints of cats, dogs, and the
Best Friends logo, the collection commemorates Skechers’
multi-year partnership and $3 million commitment with the
organization. Every shoe purchased directly supports Best
Friends’ mission: that one day, no cat or dog will be killed
because they don’t have a place to call home.
The shoes cost $45, and you can find more information at
skechers.com/en-us/bobs-for-dogs. — Annie
