Some cats like to talk nonstop. Does your
cat always have something to say?

I enjoyed your article about leash
training in the March/April issue.
Our Punky was a rescue kitten,
and we trained him to a leash early
in his life by walking him up and
down the hallway with a long string
in front of him so he could feel the
harness’ pull and release.
Once he was ready for
outside, we’d carry him as we
walked to the end of the block,
then let him walk back to the
house on his leash.
Now he hikes with us in the
mountains of the Pacific
Northwest. He enjoys walking
out on the logs in the lake and
watching the tadpoles.

My husband gave me my first Catster
magazine on Valentine’s Day this year.
I had been lobbying for a new cat by
leaving cat drawings in his belongings: a cat in his
checkbook, jacket pocket, eyeglass case. He then
treated me to your magazine.
Little did I realize the reward of
friendship that would become part of the gift. I
took it with me for some reading to my son’s Ukrainian dance class.
My friend’s son, Sean, sat with us, and I let him read the
magazine with me. He loves cats, too.
The next week, I asked him to draw me a cat. This is the
laminated cat bookmark I received the next week.
Thanks, Catster, for my new friendship!
