We’re Doing ...
Black Cat Treat Bag
Like all hopeful aspiring holders of a
high office, this politician promises to fix
what is wrong with America.
Only the politician, Dolly, is a cat. And
she isn’t interested in human issues like
terrorism, the national debt, or immigration. Dolly’s plan to “fix” America involves
fixing, as in neutering and spaying, pets in
the Pittsburgh area, her hometown.
With your “vote” for Dolly — the
resident cat at Wear Woof, a clothing
boutique that donates proceeds to animal
rescue — the money you pledge will go
toward providing spay and neuter surger-ies for cats, dogs, and rabbits in the area.
Dolly’s campaign, headquartered online at
wearwoof.org, is ambitious. Nancy Lee —
Dolly’s adopter and caretaker and owner
of Wear Woof — hopes to raise a quarter
of a million dollars by election day in
Dolly’s campaign has attracted a lot of media attention,
both from local outlets and
from the Huffington Post,
so hopefully the leaders
at least will come close
to raising that amount of
money. You can help by
voting for Dolly at her website. And you can go even further
with this brilliant idea and do something
similar with your own cat in your own city.
Why not nominate your kitty for president,
senator, or representative? You can start
an online fundraising campaign, too, and
donate the proceeds to spay-neuter operations in your area.
Dolly won’t mind the competition and
spotlight stealing, so long as it is not on her
turf in Pittsburgh.
