5MEOW TEA CUP INFUSER I love everything about ea: the cups, the teas, the
rituals, the tiny sandwiches. So it’s
no surprise that as soon as I saw
the Joie Meow Cat Kitten Tea Cup
Infuser, I promptly bought it. Not
only is it practical, but the too-cute
kitty perches on the side of the cup.
Comes in either white or black. You
can get one at a variety of places,
including Amazon. Costs around $10.
3MEWGAROO HOODIE Who doesn’t love a hoodie? And
who doesn’t want to snuggle with kitty? Japanese
company Unihabitat came
up with a way to combine the two. No more
legs falling asleep because you
don’t want to disturb your cat.
Just put him in the wedge-shaped
pocket and you can go anywhere.
A soon as it came out, everyone
at Catster passed around photos
of the Mewgaroo Hoodie, saying, “I
want one!” No surprise it was a viral
sensation. There’s a removable pocket liner
to wash separately, the cat ear-shaped hood
is too adorable, plus there are paws on the
sleeves. Retails for 7,000 Japanese yen, which
is around $60 U.S. Unihabitat.jp
4As a person who
hates being on the phone,
the creation of texting made
me deliriously happy. Even
when said texts contributed to
humorously awkward text fails,
I considered the entertainment
factor alone a huge plus.
So imagine my joy at being able to read texts from a
cat. And not just any cat, but a somewhat clingy, neurotic, self-absorbed one named Mittens, whose texts to his
lovingly patient single woman pet parent are hilarious.
Written by humor writer and CatLadyLand blogger Angie
Bailey (who also creates our monthly Catster quiz), Texts
From Mittens was birthed on Catster.com and, due to its
popularity, soon became its own website, Facebook page,
and now a book.
“It’s been fun to meet readers who’ve followed Mitty
from the beginning,” said Angie, “and also engage with new
fans who are thrilled to find Mittens available on so many
outlets. I believe the strong online platform is a huge con-
tributor to the book’s success.”
Published by Harlequin, the 112-page book came
out March 2015. Need to laugh? This book will do the
trick. You can find it in bookstores or online at Amazon.
com. $12.95 U.S./$15.95 CAN. Follow Texts from Mittens
biweekly on Catster.com and check out the website texts
